It’s Time to Register for Advocacy Day!

January 23, 2023

It’s time! January will be here before we know it, and you won’t want to miss this incredible annual event. Register today and invite a colleague to join you! You don’t need any previous experience – we’ll walk you through the whole process.

  • Learn effective advocacy strategies
  • Hear from legislative champions about issues that affect children
  • Interact directly with policymakers
  • Share your experiences caring for children

After two years of virtual Advocacy Days, we are excited to return to Olympia in person for an engaging, empowering day. WCAAP will set up meetings with your district legislators and give you talking points and issue briefs to help you prepare for conversations with legislators. There is no charge to attend, though we welcome donations to help offset the cost!

We’ll Help You Prepare!

WCAAP will host pre-advocacy day webinars to help you prepare ahead of time, including tips on how to talk with legislators, information on our top priorities, and more. Webinars will be recorded so you can listen in at your convenience.

Hotel & Dinner January 22nd

If you plan to travel to Olympia the day before Advocacy Day (January 22), we have a group rate at the TownePlace SuitesBook your group rate for WCAAP

We’ll also plan to meet for dinner at Mercato in Olympia at 6:00pm on January 22nd. It will be a great chance to socialize, meet others from around the state, huddle with your district, and ask questions!

Important Note

IMPORTANT: Please provide your home address when registering so that we can schedule meetings with legislators in your district. If you prefer to meet with legislators who serve the district your clinic is in, please provide your office address.

More Information to Come

As legislators do not receive their schedules until the first day of session, many will not be able to confirm constituent meetings until January. As soon as we have these meetings scheduled, we will send you your personal agenda. Meetings with legislators are generally 15 minutes in length. It is best to assume you *may* be in meetings any time from 8:00am – 2:00pm.

As a group, we will spend the morning hearing from legislative leaders, learning about our priorities, and connecting with each other. Participants will go to and from their own legislator meetings as they are scheduled throughout the day.

Lunch and a light breakfast will be provided.
