Interim meetings
Our legislative successes are built on the foundation of our work as trusted advocates for children. Your expertise and passion for improving child health are important to legislators, which is why they value your outreach. Legislators trust your perspective as a pediatric health care provider and member of the WCAAP. The 2018 legislative session will be here before we know it. Legislators will be in their home districts through December, so fall is the best time to schedule a meeting.
Meetings don’t have to be formal – even making time to introduce yourself over coffee is helpful! Bring a colleague along, or invite your legislators to tour your clinic. If you have a meeting scheduled and would like some back ground information ahead of time, feel free to contact us at admin@wcaap.org.
2018 legislative priorities
Our 2018 legislative agenda is taking shape! We remain committed to improving access to care by increasing the pediatric Medicaid rate and to increasing children’s timely access to mental health care. At the same time, we will continue to ensure there is a pediatric voice weighing in on public health and safety issues that affect children. Look for a detailed agenda and information briefs on our priorities later this fall.
