Kimberlee Hauff, MD, FAAP

Kim Hauff was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska where most of her extended family still resides. As the only physician and college graduate in her family, she has two very proud and overly boastful parents. She attended the University of Washington for undergrad, and went down south to New Orleans for graduate and medical school at Tulane University, where she evacuated for Hurricane Katrina as a first year med student with little more than a bathing suit and an anatomy textbook. She completed pediatric residency training at Seattle Children’s in 2012.

Dr. Hauff is currently a pediatric hospitalist at Swedish Medical Center. She enjoys teaching family medicine residents, and is an active member of the Pediatric Quality and Safety committee at Swedish. Her broad practice interests range from neonatal sepsis to inpatient adolescent behavioral health.  As an Alaskan Native member of the Kotzebue tribe, Kim mentors Native American medical students, encouraging them to be the first physician in their family too.

Dr. Hauff serves as the Early Career Physician Representative for the WCAAP board and sits on the Sustainability and Engagement committee. “I leave every board meeting so inspired by the passionate pediatricians around me,” says Dr. Hauff. “I was introduced to WCAAP by a colleague and friend, and remain impressed by how much the chapter accomplishes. I feel great knowing that just a few hours of WCAAP committee work or an email to a representative in Olympia can make a big impact.”

Dr. Hauff and her husband Mack are outdoor enthusiasts who try to take advantage of all the Pacific Northwest has to offer. They can usually be found in the mountains with their dogs Muddie and Grey on weekends off; and are excited to test out their new kayaks on Lake Washington this summer. Kim also enjoys baking pies, and is the designated Pie Queen over the holidays for her family.
