About the speaker: Dr. Deb Rodriguez is a trauma-informed pediatrician currently practicing in Centralia, WA where she is the program director of the Foster Care-Center of Excellence, DCYF Region 6, Washington State. Dr. Deb has a special focus on working with children and families who have experienced trauma in their lives. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Child Abuse and Neglect. Dr. Deb uses a model of long-term healing and restoration and has given presentations to community and medical groups on the science of trauma and toxic stress as well as human trafficking awareness and prevention. Additionally, Dr. Deb works with national AAP on a number of initiatives, including: -Council on Foster Care Adoption and Kinship Care -Council Child Abuse and Neglect -One of the original Trauma-Informed Care and Resilience Champions -Created teaching modules on trauma-informed care for the AAP -ECHO faculty for trauma informed care and mental health cohorts -WA state physician champion for Safe Babies/Zero to Three Initiative.
